baseline of font

Hello!

I am working on a font with symbols to use in ArcMAP GIS software. I checked the box at “Baseline at y=0”, but when I insert my font in ArcMAP or any other software, it centers the symbols verticaly.
What is the problem? What do I have to turn on or set that it will not center symbols? How do I make it to stand on baseline?
