I thought that I had reported this problem here, but I can’t find it now…
When pasting and/or combining glyphs within the glhph-window, it is sometimes meccessary to move or re-size the contours. I have experienced sudden shut-downs of FontCreator, while performing these adjusting operations:
When I move a selected contour with the use of the cursor-keys on my keyboard. I have been able to determine three different situations when this occurs. 1) When I repeatedly press and release a cursor-key, instead of holding it down. 2) When I hold the cursor-key down, but my finger rolls, everso slightly, and the pressure on the key is momentarily interrupted. 3) While holding a cursor-key down, either a simultaneous movement of my mouse, or an inadvertent mouse-key depression.
Any one of these three situatiojns will = inexplicably - cause my Fontcreator window to disappear and any changes since the last Save Project selection are lost and must be repeated! This is mighty frustrating for me, since I also use a Windows feature, Magnifier, enabling me to see what is on my computer screen, and this is a reason while impulses from my mouse mab be genereateed. Is there anything besides behavioral control that might prevent these sut-downs from happening???
