My typesetting system (XeTeX on Windows) does not support kerning for true TrueType fonts, but does for OpenType and OpenType (.ttf). I have a set of fonts that are TrueType, and I would like to convert them to OpenType (.ttf). Can Font Creator do this, or does anyone know how this might be done?
As you know, Font Creator goes the other way – OTF to TTF. You can also rename an OTF to TTF by changing the extension. These are readable by programs that “don’t understand” OTF extensions.
Wonder what would happen in your program if you simply renamed a .TTF to .OTF Would the program correctly handle this extension?
FontLab and some others do OTF conversions I believe…
