What if my project file is corrupted so FontCreator can’t open it? Is there a way to repair it?
Last time I worked on that file the day before yesterday, saved it properly, everything was okay. Today I wanted to continue working on it but Fontcreator said ‘The project file is corrupted.’ I have no idea what did I do wrong, or what could cause this.
I’m terribly sorry for any inconvenience, but we’ve found a bug in FontCreator that is most likely the cause of your corrupt font project.
We have just released a maintenance release (FontCreator 7.5.0.519) with a bug fix for this issue. You can download it from our download page, or use the auto update feature (FontCreator → Help → Check for Updates).
mine is also corrupt, I lost the progress made with accents for other languages as well as the symbols and punctuation, but it’d be a huge time saver if i could get those back. can i get your email address Erwin Denissen? Italica Neue.fcp (49.3 KB)
I have a similar problem with FontCreator 7.5.0.519:
I am trying to merge several languages into one font and when trying to reopen the project, I get a textbox that glyph count does not match glyph properties and project is corrupt.
There is no info about this on save, so it is very hard to work with, since I have to close and reopen after adding each set.
Can you please help?
I get corrupt project on version 7.5.0.519 when trying to merge together several fonts for different languages.
Let me know what email I can send the project file to (I am using NotoSans, which is a freeware font available to all, and we are merging the different localizations into a single font).
Can you check what happens on save?
It is best to upgrade to version 8, but for existing customers of version 7 we will try to repair the project file. Do send the project file through our ticket system and we’ll look into it.
I tried doing the same with font creator 8.0 and discovered the corruption was due to the font reaching over 65535 glyphs.
Fixed now by removing characters.
