CHECKED the FAQ and various posts in this form, but couldd not figure out the problem. Hence this post
I am trying to achieve the following objective with the font creator.
Objective:
To use electronic signature on the check, which is to be printed from an application called Baan
By embedding the signature on the check we try to avoid the process of signing the check
To do this, i need to get the signature converted to a font. I can use this font to print signature from the application
Problem
- I have scanned signature to an JPG file.
- Created a Unicode font file (It looks like I have the option to use symbol for signatures, but I am not sure how can tie to a character and use it inside the application. Is there is an alternate way to do this?)
- The PROBLEM is the font is coming out very small when I test this in word
- I want to make it bigger, if I try to edit the glymph by double clicking on the letter and drag the boundaries, all the circular areas in side the signature is coming out black.
Can SOME ONE TELL M EHOW TO FIX this?

The signature will consist of several contours.
An “O” has two contours, while a “B” has three. The outer contour is clockwise (and black) while the inner contours are anticlockwise (and white). To stretch the signature you need to stretch all of the contours. Use Select All (Control A) or marquee select by dragging around them with the mouse. Double-click will go into node edit mode, or a slow double click will enable you to rotate the selected contour(s).
If the font is for internal use only, you could add the signature to an unused glyph in an existing font to save changing fonts in the application to type the signature. The Not sign ¬ is not often needed, or Icelandic Thorn Þþ or æÆ.
How big is the bitmap that you’re importing? The recommended size is up to 500 pixels. A signature should be about 150 x 500 Pixels.
Hello Bhiiku,
Thanks a lot
Wow. You are the man. Thats it, i was not selecting all the countours. I knew its something silly, i spent few hours researching this. I am glad i posted this question
Thanks for the prompt response. You and Erwin seem to be an authority in these matters. I have read through many of your other postings here
Any way, the signature file is just 5K in size (very small)
Thanks again
By the way i must tell you, who ever developed this did an incredible job…
Thanks
