Good afternoon. I just bought and installed MainType v12.x Professional Edition yesterday. Today I just tried to open it and got an error screen pop up saying "Database does not exist! “C:\ProgramData\High-Logic FontService\data\fonts.db3” "
All I did yesterday was add my font folders that I keep on an external HDD - after the program found the usual Windows fonts folder.
I opened the C:\ProgramData\High-Logic FontService\data\ folder and there are only 2 files in it fonts.db3-journal & views.db3-journal
At the bottom of the error it has restart MainType ticked by default but after clicking closed it doesn’t reopen.
Before I go uninstall/reinstall I just thought I would ask here first - thank you

That folder should contain the two files fonts.db3 and views.db3. If they’re missing, it’s likely that external software, such as antivirus or antimalware, removed or quarantined them. Check your security software’s quarantine area to see if those files are there, and try restoring them.
If they’re gone and can’t be restored, the simplest solution is to completely uninstall MainType and then reinstall it. That should recreate the missing files.
Let us know if this resolves the issue or if you run into further problems!
Hi Erwin
The folder does have those 2 files like I said but they have “journal” on the end. I use Malwarebytes - it does daily scans and always lets me know it it picks up anything and hasn’t in ages but I checked the quarantine anyway - nothing is there.
Before I uninstall/reinstall do you reckon I should just edit those files and remove “journal”?? to see if that might fix it?? If it stuffs it I am going to reinstall anyway

Those files are temporary files which are of no use after a restart. Hence they are empty.
Too bad we don’t know what made the critical files disappear.
Anyway you need a full uninstall and reinstall of MainType.
