font validator error

I used font validator to validate my font and it gives me 2 gasp errors 1)The version number is not 0. 2)Some rangeGaspBehavior fields contain invalid flags. I am not sure where to look for gasp info and how to eliminate the error? I am attaching the report for your perusal.

Microsoft Font Validator (version 1.0.1286.23890; released in 2003) is clearly outdated as it does not support the new version of the gasp table which was introduced back in May 2008.

So can I safely ignore the errors given by font validator and assume that my font is okay or is there any other tool which I can use to validate my font?. The reason why I want to validate is because some of the characters in my font (private use area) are not getting displayed in text editor/word processor. The font creator itself does not show any errors on validation.

The gasp related errors are false positives, so yes you can ignore those.

If your word processing software accepts characters from the PUA from other fonts, then it looks like there is indeed an issue with your font. But it is hard to guess without more information…

I am testing in MS word and am not sure if it prints PUA characters in other fonts.

It works just fine with my Word 2007, so please clarify what fails, and provide clear steps for us to reproduce the issue.
