The most important improvements are vector based import of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), a new optimize contour feature which reduces the number of points (nodes), Unicode 9 support, and redesigned glyph tagging to greatly enhance productivity.

FontCreator now allows you to define supported and design language tags as found in many modern fonts that come with Windows. Several new glyph transformer features, more thorough font validation checks, and performance improvements related to OpenType layout features make FontCreator the perfect font editor for all font designers.
