get glyphs to show as open type curves?

Is it possible to get glyphs to show as open type curves? I see only true type curves.

Thanks,
Ellen

I suspect that you mean Postscript curves — the OpenType format support both Truetype and Postscript formats.

No, it’s not possible. FontCreator currently only uses Truetype bezier curves.

Please see this earlier post

I see someone had the exact question. There must be more who’d like to have it.

Do you have any idea when that feature might be available?

What do you need, and why do you need it?

Do you need to export fonts with Postscript outlines? If so why? What exactly is wrong with Truetype outlines?

Is it just a matter of being more familiar with editing postscript curves, so you need that ability in FontCreator?

Erwin is obviously aware that some people requested it, but I am still puzzled as to what the problem is, and whether there are any significant benefits of using cubic curves over bezier curves.

I’ve been using cubic bézier drawing in every vector drawing program I’ve used. I’m not an authority but isn’t that pretty much the usual thing? The other font design programs I’ve tried give you the option of either type. Anyway, it seems to me to be much easier to get precisely what I want with cubic versus quadratic.
