Hi! I am trying to rearrange my glyphs in Adobe Illustrator - you can see in the screenshot they are out of order. It looks like they are in order of the “Glyph Index” # - not the code points. In Character Map, you can see they’re in code point order. I cannot figure out how to change the Glyph Index number (the #194 shown in the screenshot). Is there a way to change this? It seems like it was in the order they were added to the FC project…but I can’t figure out how to reorder. Am I expected to only add glyphs in the exact correct order every project? Or is there a way to change this? Thanks in advance!
One can use cut and paste special to reorder glyphs in the glyph index, or when creating new glyphs, one can add them after the selected glyph to maintain whatever order one wishes.
You can also use Tools → Sort Glyphs.
Thank you! I had been able to sort the glyphs in the VIEW by code points, but that didn’t actually change the glyph index. I never would have thought this sort was any different. Thank you so much!
