Hebrew script font

I need a free Hebrew script font in Unicode that I can distribute with my free world literacy reading program. My program now reads the Leningrad text and displays it in normal block Hebrew letters with vowel points. I want to add the feature where I will display the text in both block and script font.

By script font I mean the format that Israeli’s hand write alphabet letters today.

Is it possible to make such a font with FontCreator? Is there a Hebrew Unicode template can I start with so I can just paste my script letters to replace the template letters? Can I get started with making this font with the trial version of FontCreator or do I need an upgraded version to fully comprehend this task?

Thanks!

Bob

The 30-day trial version is the fully functional Professional Edition, which includes a facility to insert characters. Using this you can easily add the Hebrew character sets (which are not included in the default font template). Anyway it is easy enough to copy and paste the required mappings from another font.

If you look in the Gallery forum, you will find some Hebrew fonts that will give you a hint on how to get started and show what can be done with FontCreator.

See also my tutorial on Scanning an Entire Alphabet. I find that copying and pasting bitmaps from IrfanView is an efficient way to get a whole alphabet from a scanned original into FontCreator.
