How do I make all the characters the same size? urgent.

Heya,
I’m new to the forum so I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong place, I have no idea yet how to use this forum since I am so rushed.
I downloaded the trial version of this software, and I have scanned in to the computer all my hand written characters using a template, and they have been generated in each of the characters on the font creator.
However, I enlarge the characters as much as possible but i then have to adjust the grid lines around the characters so that the characters are still in proportion and not too wide/tall e.t.c Problem is when I try the test all the characters are different sizes and I need them to all be the same size, but I have no idea how to do that. I have to move the grid lines to fit around each character other wise there would be space left around the character. How do I make all the characters all the same size?
One other thing, when i test the font the characters are really small, even when at a large font size, and I’ve used the exact same grid as the example characters, but i have to adjust the grid to not leave space.
How can I solve these problems, I’m completely new to this software but need to know how to do this quick, i’ve looked online, in forums, and on the help that came with the software, but I can’t find any solutions.
If you do have solutions please explain them to me extremely basic to me.
Thanx in advance, solutions appreciated!!

Maybe Scanahand better suits your needs.

Anyway, with FontCreator you have to manually adjust the size of each glyph. Double-click a glyph and the select all contours in order to resize 'm. This and much more is explained in detail in the manual.

Heya,
Yeah thanx I’ve done that now.
But one major problem i’m having is how to make just the capital letters larger than none capital letters. And I can’t use any other software now, since I’ve just put hours of work in uploading and sorting all the characters out.
I would really appreciate if you could explain how I do this, i’ve looked at the help manual and it covers it but doesn’t actaully explain how I make all capital letters bigger than none capitals.

OH!!!
I’ve just come to the realization that I can’t save all the work i’ve done :frowning:
And I just spent all the past 6 hours doing this!! Does the fact that I’m on a trial version mean that I can’t create a font?
my week is just getting worse and worse. I can’t download the full version, do am I screwed?

You have already downloaded the full version. All you need is a license number to enter in the registration screen. New Licenses.

Heya,
I stated in the first post that I had downloaded the trial version, so unfortunately I can’t save my work which I have spent hours and hours doing. I don’t want to buy the license key, I just thought that the trial version would enable me to use all features including saving my work.
Any ideas, I can not buy a license, I only wanted to use this once.
I can’t believe all that work has been for nothing :frowning:

We worked hard to develop the software. If you don’t buy it, all that work has been for nothing.

The trial version is the same as the full professional edition. Buying a Home or Pro license will unlock the appropriate features. The trial version lets you investigate its features and see what it can do before purchase. You can preview your font in the Font Test window.

Its a hard world. So many users download trial versions and never register. No doubt I spent many hours of my free time helping these users and many never even so much as replied to say “thanks.”

Everyone has to make a living. How could Erwin provide you with free software, free support via this forum, and still pay his staff and support his family?

If you want only one font, you can use YourFonts.com for $10, but with FontCreator you’re not limited by the number of fonts you can create, and you can keep on improving your fonts until you’re satisfied.
