How do we remove "FontCreator" from the auto-generated version string?

Hi there.
I am using FC12 now. Under Font Properties > Identification, the option for “Generate the following naming fields automatically” adds Font Creator + FontCreator version to the Version String. How do I keep FontCreator out?

Clear the checkbox in Font Properties, Identification.

Then the Version number doesn’t automatically update in the Version String.

I think it’s time to move back to FC8.1

Updating it manually is way better than going back to an outdated version of our font editor.

The version information allows the font designer to see what version of FontCreator was used to produce the font. This is helpful in case one wonders if a specific bug affected a font. We have a changelog that shows what bugs are fixed with each release.

Over the years we’ve fixed so many bug, that it would be very unwise to use an older version.

Now with FontCreator 15, we are all using Instances for outputting. The only choices we have to remove FontCreator from the Version String is to disable “Generate the following naming fields on export”, or to manually reopen all instances and re-export them individually.

For fonts with a lot of instances, this is a lot of unnecessary work.

Could we now have an option to exclude the FontCreator credit from the Version String?
