We’ve received a few reports from users that antivirus tools like AVG may incorrectly flag our software—such as MainType—as a threat. These are known as false positives, and they are unfortunately a common issue with many third-party antivirus programs.
Please rest assured that all High-Logic software is digitally signed and thoroughly tested before release. We have also run our latest installers through VirusTotal, and they come out completely clean.
Windows already includes strong built-in security features like Windows Defender and SmartScreen. In most cases, this provides more than enough protection, making additional antivirus software not only redundant but often a source of unnecessary problems.
If your antivirus software blocks the installer, you can safely:
- Temporarily disable the antivirus
- Or add an exception for the installer file
If you need help doing this, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to assist.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
