I am new to this forum.
I have an old ( very very sentimental) typewriter and I want to transfer the font to my computer.
If I type the chatacters and then scan the page, can these be then individually made into the font.
If I scan at 100% will they be ok.
Whenever I scan text at 100% it comes out the same size as image. So will I have to make any adjustments.
Any help would be hugely appreciated. 
100% doesn’t mean very much. What you need to set is the number of dots per inch (dpi). If the original typewritten font is 12 points or 1/6th of an inch to get the recommended 300-500 pixel high image you will need to scan it at up to 3,000 dpi. Try 2,400 dpi.
