Importing Vectors into FontCreator

Hi there,

I design a vector font in Illustrator using simple shapes as triangles.
I am trying now to import each letter in Font creator, but everytime I had a problem on the import process.
The triangles, that made up one letter, are never aligned as they are in the AI file.

-I tried to copy and paste
-To save it as eps
-to import, turning off the PDF option in the Illustrato Save file dialog box
-to change the units from mm to points in AI
-to impot with crop marks

Does anybody have a clue?

FontCreator cannot guess where the baseline should be on your imported glyphs. It only knows the bounding box of the page. The bottom left corner of the page corresponds to the intersection of the baseline with the Y-Axis.

I’ve asked for this to be moved to the intersection of the Y-Axis with WinDescent.

Please Zip a few AI files and attach them to your post for testing purposes.

Ok,
I attached the AI, with the letter B, which gives me troubles.

If you have a time to test it, I’ll really appreciate.

Cheers

I also get an unexpected result. However, it looks OK in DrawPlus, and if I export it from there to PDF, it imports into FontCreator as expected. Maybe something to do with the curve direction — we will have to wait for expert help.

THanks a lot,

But what is it the Draw Plus?

It does indeed looks strange to me as well. Have you tried the trick mentioned here:
