Hi,
Ive created new characters in NImbus font from the Latin Extended-A unicode block. When I write them in Microsoft Word it works, I see them, but when I write them in Indesign it shows white spaces. The same for the glyphs panel, under the unicode right number (for ex $104 for capital A with ogonek) there is just blank space. The mapping in Font Creator seems ok, these are glyphs from Latin Unicode block so I just found them on the font panel and created them from other glyphs that the font contained. I searched internet and Your forum for some answer, but can
t find nothing. I`ll be very grateful for Your help.
best regards

Ive checked the Adobe and Windows folders, but I don
t have those files. Even if I turn on the visibility of the system files in the Adobe/TypeSupport folder I have only FntNames.db
Have you tried rebooting your PC after reinstalling the modified font?
yes, still nothing. I installed the font under different name (to be sure that I use the right version) in the control panel and nothing, then copied it to the font folder in InDesign and it still doesn`t work. In the same time it does work in Word.
Did you use a different file name or a different font name?
Both.
but I see the font, just can`t see the created glyphs
How did you add the new characters to the font?
I do not know if the following will illuminate the problem, but it might be worth trying.
Please try the following.
Format
Settings…
Range
Then under Unicode Character Ranges, click on the Edit… button.
Is the Latin Extended-A box checked?
I remember reading once in the Unicode mailing list that Microsoft make their products check fonts before using them so as to ensure that things are correct, so if that were the problem, it is possible that a Microsoft product would first check and set the flag in a copy of the font, so the end user would not notice a problem when using the font with a Microsoft product.
Also, I do not know to what extent, if at all, Adobe products rely on a glyph having a Postscript name.
Do the glyphs that do not display each have a Postscript name?
