Kazakh localization

Dear High-Logic team,

I’m a native speaker and localizer of Kazakh and a user of FontCreator. I’d like to kindly ask whether FontCreator supports localization and if it is possible to help translate the user interface into Kazakh.

I believe this would greatly help native Kazakh-speaking designers, font developers, and typographers who use your software.
If localization is possible, I’d be happy to assist with the translation of interface elements or resource files.
Please let me know if this is something you currently support or plan to support in the future.
Thank you for your time and for developing such a powerful font editor.

Thank you for reaching out—and for offering to help!

FontCreator already ships with several translations (German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and more). Kazakh isn’t included yet because we’ve had very little demand so far.

How you can add Kazakh now

  1. Make a copy of file C:\Program Files\High-Logic FontCreator\Lang\lang.en and rename it to lang.kk
  2. In the file make these changes:
    _meta.language = “Kazach”;
    _meta.locale = “kk”;
    and then translate the text after each “=” sign.
  3. Save the file, restart FontCreator, and select Kazakh from the Options dialog.

Feel free to share your finished file on the forum—if more users adopt it, we can look into bundling it with the official installer.

Thanks again for your initiative and support!
