Key Stroke for Newly Created Glyph?

I created a new glyph and I hope that someone can tell me how to determine the proper key stokes on the keyboard to type this glyph

What code-point have you used for the new glyph?

Glyph Properties

I believe that I have chosen 243 as the code point. It said that another glyph was using it, but I never used this glyph so I said that it was ok to overwrite it.

I used 243

Thank you so much for your help. I have figured out that my questions have exposed my lack of knowledge on the task I was given. As for my first and second questions, I was able to see the problem, based on your reply which asked for the code. I researched and found that the code is the answer to my last two questions. Thank you for directing me. But PLEASE, is there a way to create a glyph and assign a code that allows the unique characteristics of the code to be seen by the other email programs that modify the font to their own font? For example, I had to place two dots above a small case s. I created this and it works perfectly when I type it, but when I send it to yahoo or gmail or receive it in Microsoft outlook it modifies it and displays the Unicode character for this code number.

Is there a code that I can use that is unique and thus forces the font of yahoo to choose my font’s code?

If the customised font doesn’t exist on the recipient’s computer there’s no way to display it. You could send a PDF file which could have your font embedded in it.

Another method that might work, is to type two characters, s plus combining diaeresis above s̈ which will work if the recipient has a suitable font like Calibri installed with the combining diaeresis — codepoint hex 0308.

Thank you so very much. I will try this
