Move/Export fonts from Virtual Group to Sync Folder

Hi! as title says:
If I add fonts to virtual groups and delete the source, then want to move them to real sync folders, Is it possible to move them using the program’s interface? I mean, is it possible to use drag&drop or use cut/paste from virtual groups to synced folders with the expected result being that fonts are copied from the library in the physical synced folders? Or do I need to use the export function?
I found an old question on the forum, on this topic, noting that cup/paste were somehow mislabelled in this particular case and no font would be copied in the target folder i.e. on the file system, but the fonts would be deleted from the virtual group, so that was implying any classification work done on them was lost without warning (they remained in the library but not in the proper group). I couldn’t find any follow-up and I was curios about this feature and how it behaves currently.
Thank you.

Yes, that works just fine. The font file will be copied to the sync folder.

Hi Erwin and thanks for the reply. MainType is a great tool and I think it deserves more appreciation.
However it does not seem to work as intended, regarding the current topic.
Not only it doesn’t work with mixt real/virtual folders but also it does not work between “real” sync folders (it does not matter if the sync is manual or a given interval).
I re-tested using the latest download from the website.

To simplify, I made a folder C:\Fonts, and inside it, two folders, Folder 1 and Folder 2, and aded both to MainType’s library with “keep in sync”.
I placed 25 font files in Folder 1 and refreshed Maintype - I can see them as intended.
Inside Maintype, I cut the 25 fonts from folder 1, click on Folder 2 to display its content, and paste.
I see Maintype shows now Folder 1 with 0 fonts and Folder 2 with 25 fonts.
However looking in windows explorer, the cut/copy action did not happen - Folder 1 still has the 25 fonts, and Folder 2 has none, contrary to what Maintype shows.
I refresh all folders in Maintype and now it shows 25 fonts in BOTH folders, even after pressing refresh several times, it won’t show the fact that Folder 2 has in fact zero fonts.
(After more testing I noticed I modify the check User Access, this seems to force a more thorough refresh and Maintype will realize Folder 2 has zero fonts… but still that does not solve the lack of copy/paste action as intended.)
After even more testing I noticed that in fact CTRL+Drag’n’Drop does move the files properly, however this is a less convenient action and more prone to errors (like dropping in the wrong folder etc). So I guess there might be a issue/bug(?) with the implementation of the Cut/Paste actions in the right click menu as they don’t seem to work as intended.

We have located the issue and will release an update with a fix later today.

We have just released the update, so do install it and let us know your results.

Thank you! I can confirm cut/paste between synchronised physical folders does work now as intended.

Cutting from a synced folder and pasting to a virtual group (or the other way around) does copy the files, however they are not removed from the source folder/group (so cut/paste acts like copy/paste). Also drag’n’drop seems not to be allowed between virtual and “real” folders. However I don’t plan to use virtual groups. And I do realise it might not make a lot of sens to have “file” operations between a virtual and a real folder.

It would be really nice if cut/copy and paste would be available from the search results view -that would be a tremendously useful to organise the collection- but I suppose this is really hard to implement.
