New Windows 11 MainType crashes all the time

I had been using MainType for years without any crashes. I am a happy user and paying customer.

Now my old Windows got instable and I installed a clean Windows 11; same hardware. My Window is now fixed, all other tools behave as expeced. I had used the Windows-install where I loose all my programs and keep only my data-partition. So old stuff hopefully all gone.
winver is giving me “24H2, Build 26100.3476” today.

I installed the MainType afresh, which I had in my downloads-archive, which was maybe a mistake?: I installed Version 12.0.01334 because I work in a location with very slow and expensive internet. And you can imagine that installing all my tools afresh was heavy on the data-use.

Anyway, I keep a certain folder with my fonts and I had managed to show my entire folder to my MainType on my new Windows 11. So it found and listed all my fonst. Today: 920 Active Fonts (normally closer to 3000, once I am done with installing). And some 10900+ fonts found in “Library”. No memory issues for disk nor RAM.

But MainType keeps crashing. For small use, like just listing all “Fira Sans” and then right-click to install one(!) font: crash.

Then I tried installing the latest, since I figured “new Windows maybe needs newest font-manager”. So I upgraded yesterday to version 12.0.0.1340. And that did not help. Seems my MainType system is now totally instable. I have no new fonts on my machine, I think, unless the Windows 11 brought some evil ones with it. The main difference is the new OS and the fact, that many of my fonts are not installed yet; they are just in my storage folder.

I am asking for help, please how to identify the problem, if possible. And then how to fix it. My system was stable for years (you can check in the forum and see that I rarely need help) and I use it every week. And I want to get back to this stage with good normal use.

Otherwise I would be willing to wipe my MainType installation and start over, with the latest version. I would need help on how to make sure, my “database” or “Library” is really wiped, so that I get a real fresh install.

Thank you.

PS: I just clicked on > Tools > Invalid Font Resources and it give me a crazy-long-list like never before. It is saying 1547 Items at the bottom and I have not counted them. All File names begin with ._ and they all seem to be in subfolders with something MACOSX. I do not use a Mac, but never had issues with storing purchased fonts (when I pay for a license, I keep all included versions, because why not).

We are very sorry about our late reply, somehow this slipped through and we just noticed your reminder you send by email.

It is most likely due to a corrupt or too complex font that crashes your video driver.

We can further look into this through an online session, like Google meet or Zoom.

We will contact you by email to discuss this further.
