Single Adjustments for Vertical Alignement

I am having difficulty applying a vertical adjustment, e.g. for case-sensitive forms.

The help file says:

• While holding down the shift button, you can change the XPlacement and YPlacement.

Presumably that should be the shift key, but it doesn’t work as the YPlacement is an unused setting.

What happens if you unchecked the unused settings checkbox and try it again?

I can then adjust the values, but the glyph doesn’t move up.

It should work if you click on the outline. Before clicking hold down the shift key. And as mentioned do make sure the checkbox is not checked.

No. Only the XAdvance can be changed.

Ah, I see the problem now.

I only have one font coming up to work on where this issue will be a problem. It would be nice for FC to be patched by then.

Sorry for the delay. I can confirm this issue. For pair adjustments you need to hold down the CTRL key, and for some reason this isn’t working with single adjustments. We will fix this with the next upcoming update.

Thank you for your reply. I will look forward to the update.

The next upcoming update will position the glyph in the correct vertical placement.

Of all four fields, you can click inside the visible area and adjust these values, except for YAdvance. This value is hardly used, as I think is only useful for vertical writing.
