Hi! I am very very very new to Font Creator. I have version 6.1 professional. My question is that I am having a hard time figuring out how to control the spacing between words. I understand the character spacing, but I’m not getting it for each word. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Dansell in distress!
I do not have FontCreator 6.1 and the following is about what happens with FontCreator 5.6.
If one right-clicks on the fourth cell along of the top row of a new font, that is, one right-clicks in the cell labelled as space, a menu panel should become displayed.
Click on the section labelled as Properties… and a dialogue panel should become displayed.
There are two sub-panels, General should be showing by default. The General sub-panel is what is needed. (I do not know if “sub-panel” is the standard terminology.)
There is a box labelled as Advance Width.
The numerical value in that box can be altered, then OK can be clicked.
Is that the answer to what you wanted to know?
Spacing between words can be varied automatically by some software applications that use fonts if a text-formatting mode such as justified text is being used. That is controlled by the application rather than by the font, though it might perhaps be the case (I do not know, maybe someone else in this forum does know) that the value of the advance width for the space character is taken into consideration in producing the justification.
I hope that this helps.

Or simply open the Space (4th glyph) editing window and move the right bearing to the distance you desire.
