Specific glyph showing in FC but not in other apps when exporting

Hello i have created a font made up of SVG’s exported out of Adobe Illustrator for my up and coming Boardgame EONWAR. Each character is an icon, not a letter as u can see below. A couple of these glyphs do not appear when being used in applications such as MS Word or Adobe Indesign.

Its odd because 90% of them do, and 100% of them show in the preview pane in Font Creator 15, so i know they can be rendered. I have ensured all icons (glyphs) have been simplified as much as possible and intersecting shapes merged, so theres no overlaps.

I cannot figure out why for example the second glyph in the image above Rotate Shield (assigned to “) will not display. There are also a couple more glyphs that wont render. Any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!

It’s impossible to tell why it fails from this alone — it might be related to Word using smart quotes instead of straight quotes. Can you provide more details about which characters don’t display?

Hi i fixed the issue by making the glyph a compound path in Illustrator as it had two separate shapes in it, and then re-imported into FontCreator. This seems to have resolved the issue.

It would still be valuable of you can send both fonts, the failing and working ones. That allows us to identify the problem and possibly find a fix for it.
